And Miles To Go Before I Sleep

They say that "if we were meant to stay in one place, we'd have roots instead of feet". 

It's 3 weeks exactly until we head out west and as you can see... THIS is why I'm super excited for our southwest summer trip. I'm a TarHeel girl both in heart and geographical location and have never moved out of the North Carolina county I was born and raised in. I also have zero complaints nor a single solitary regret about that.

Part of the reason there isn't more blue on the "been-there, done-that" map is because I was self-employed for 16 years and it was only up until that past 3 that I've been able to have the least-little-bit of ME-time. I know people assume when you're self-employed, you can just pick up and go wherever you want, whenever you want. Unfortunately in my case, that was hardly the truth.

Now granted, I've traveled my home state upwards, downwards, backwards and forwards! The Old North State is one of the most beautiful in the US and we live almost smack dab in the middle - right where the 2 of the largest interstates cross (Statesville's tag line is, "The Crossroads for the Future" and "Where It All Comes Together"... its name originates from the city's establishment in 1789 when the town was roughly in the middle of the state). I have visited DOZENS of locations end to end... from the mountains and valleys of the Natahala National Forest to the warm water and sandy beaches of the Outer Banks.

Or... at least I BELIEVE it's one of the most beautiful states in the US! You can see that I still have more than half to visit.

** But I'm looking to change all that now! **

Come June, I'll be able to add 5 more states from our epic summer trip and in August, 1 more for my brother's upcoming wedding! I'm a Sagittarius and my sign is the Traveler. My wanderlust has me inspired to begin doing more of just that!
