Day 142 of 365

SUMMER, HERE WE COME!!

It's been a LONG while since I've posted on a personal blog (heck... even then there were only 3 posts) and I used to THOROUGHLY love to write, but after 12 years of writing travel, how-to, trend and journal articles, along with real wedding stories for a quarterly bridal magazine I co-owned... I've taken quite the hiatus from it. Who knows? Maybe this blog will rekindle my fire for it!

At any rate, we are a month away from our epic family of 9 summer road trip and I figured this would be the best and easiest way to document it. I couldn't be more excited!

We'll be heading out to the southwest for almost 2 weeks and it will be a first for me. We're flying into Phoenix, AZ, driving up through several national parks and then flying out of Bozeman, MT.

This is one of the routes we're considering traveling... hitting the major stops along the way: Phoenix, through Sedona's Red Rock Scenic Byway to Slide Rock State Park, the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, the last leg of historic Route 66, crossing over the Navajo Bridge, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, Zion, The Narrows, Orderville, Bryce, Escalante, Capital Reef, Devil's Garden, Moab, Dead Horse State Park overlooking the Canyonlands, (maybe through Dinosaur, CO rather than through Salt Lake City, UT) Thayne, Grand Teton, Island Park, Yellowstone, Mammoth Hot Springs, Livingston, Bozeman and Big Sky.

See the Dinosaur, CO route below (UPDATE: we ixnayed going through Dinosaur to keep it simple):

"Life is meant for spectacular adventures.
Let your feet wander, your eyes marvel and your soul ignite."

Cheers!!
